ASDPESO, founded in 2004, in Braga (Portugal), is a private, non-profit, institution of social solidarity, recognized for public benefit, which integrates four entities: Colégio João Paulo II, Dumiense Colégio João Paulo II Futebol, SAD, agricultural cooperative – TERRA CONVIDA and Centro de Desenvolvimento Pessoal e Social.

In addition to the creation and management of educational establishments, ASDPESO’s Statutes provide for the development of collaborative projects with national and foreign entities, in order to guarantee equal opportunities in access to excellent scientific and human training.

COLÉGIO JOÃO PAULO II was created in 2006, with just a few dozen students, currently having over 2000 children and young people, divided into three poles (Dume and Sete Fontes – Braga and Vila Real), from four-month-old babies to teenagers in the 12th grade, accompanied by about 300 educators and teachers with different training profiles and professional experiences.

DUMIENSE F. C., founded in 1962, currently DUMIENSE CJP FUTEBOL, SAD is a football club affiliated with the Football Association of Braga.

The club has several regional titles in the various levels of training and seniors. Its motto is to train athletes for sport and life, by sharing the values and principles of friendship, unity, truth, and companionship. Physical and sporting activity plays a fundamental role in the educational project of Colégio João Paulo II, helping the
development of healthier practices and lifestyles and the development of the civic dimension of students, allowing them to learn the rules of cooperation and healthy competition, get in touch with the values of responsibility, team spirit, and effort in meeting individual and collective goals.

The Terra Convida cooperative aims at organic agricultural production, as part of its commitment to decarbonisation and the promotion of the circular economy, thus contributing to the regeneration of the nutrient cycle, efficient water management and soil rehabilitation, in a process of conversion of conventional farming systems. Associated with production, the cooperative supplies food for consumption to dozens of entities, prepared and distributed by the Cooperativa de Solidariedade Social, of which ASDPESO is also a member. This holistic approach to food production and consumption, in cooperation with various institutions, mainly in the social sector, also contributes to strengthening the economic dimension and competitiveness of the activity and increasing the supply and consumption of organic products in the market.

The CENTER FOR PERSONAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT (CEPES) was created by ASDPESO with the objective of implementing actions that promote equitable access to relevant knowledge for the development of personal, environmental, relational, and social skills, understood as the ability to act and react to different situations in different contexts. This generic scope of action of CEPES, in line with the ASDPESO mission, focuses on four core areas: equal opportunities, social inclusion, the exercise of citizenship, and social cohesion, all based on interpersonal relationships, respect for diversity and driven by the academic and professional success of all individuals.
